How to Use Your Candle Refill?
Using your Amaura candle wax refill is simple:
- Once your candle has around 4–5mm of wax left, place your metal vessel in the freezer for 3–4 hours to contract the wax.
- Remove the remaining wax and clean the vessel with soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
- Unwrap your refill and place it into the clean, empty Amaura London vessel.
- Light the refill and burn it for 2–4 hours on the first use to ensure an even melt and avoid tunnelling.

How to refill your Amaura London Reed Diffuser?
- Prepare your space
Place the diffuser on a coaster or tray and protect the surface. - Remove used reeds
Lift the old reeds out and place them on a paper towel. Do not reuse old reeds — fibres clog over time and will weaken the scent throw. - Empty any remaining liquid
Carefully decant leftover liquid into absorbent paper and dispose of it in household waste. Avoid pouring oils down the sink. - Clean the vessel (if changing scent)
If you’re refilling with the same scent, a quick wipe is enough.
If you’re switching scents, wash the vessel with warm, soapy water, rinse, and let it dry completely — water and oil don’t mix. - Pour in your refill
Using a funnel if you like, fill the vessel two‑thirds to three‑quarters full. Leave some air space to help diffusion and to reduce spill risk. - Add fresh reeds
Use fewer reeds for a subtle scent or more reeds for a stronger throw/ larger spaces. - Prime the reeds
Let the reeds soak for 1–2 hours, then flip them once to saturate both ends. - Position & maintain
Place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or open windows (these speed up evaporation). Flip reeds 1–2 times per week or before guests arrive. - Safety & care
Wipe spills immediately — fragrance oils can mark painted or polished surfaces. Keep away from children and pets. Never light the reeds.

Q. How long will a refill last?
Longevity depends on room size, airflow, temperature and the number of reeds you use. As a guide, the same volumes used in our diffusers last approximately:
- 100ml: 4–6 months
- 200ml: 8–9 months
- 500ml: up to 18 months
- 1L: up to 2 years.
Q. Do I really need new reeds each time?
Yes. Cotton‑fibre reeds gradually clog with fragrance over weeks and won’t absorb the new liquid effectively. Fresh reeds restore full scent throw.
Q. Can I mix two scents in the same vessel?
We don’t recommend it. Either finish the first scent or wash and dry the vessel completely before refilling with a new scent to avoid mixing notes.
Q. Can I top up a half‑full diffuser with the same scent?
Yes. If the scent and base are the same, you can top up directly. Change the reeds if you think the scent has become weak.
Q. My diffuser doesn’t smell as strong anymore — what can I do?
Replace the reeds, add 1–2 extra reeds, move the diffuser to a slightly warmer/ more central spot, and flip the reeds. Avoid direct sunlight or radiators, which use up the liquid faster.
Q. How often should I flip the reeds?
1–2 times per week is ideal. Flipping more often boosts scent but also speeds up evaporation.
Q. Are Amaura London refills alcohol‑free?
Yes. We only use a natural, alcohol‑free base.
Q. Are your refills safe around pets or during pregnancy?
Always keep diffusers out of reach and use in well‑ventilated rooms. Some animals and people can be sensitive to fragrance. If you have specific concerns, please consult your vet or healthcare professional and discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Q. What should I do if I spill diffuser liquid?
Wipe immediately with a soft cloth, then clean the area with warm, soapy water. Diffuser liquid can damage varnished, painted, or natural stone surfaces — use a tray or coaster under your diffuser.
Q. Can I use Amaura London refills in another brand’s vessel?
You can, but performance depends on the vessel opening and reeds. For best results, use Amaura cotton‑fibre reeds and avoid very narrow necks that restrict airflow.- We provide fresh reeds with our refills.
Q. How should I store unopened refills?
Keep bottles upright, tightly closed, and in a cool, dark place. Use within 12–18 months for the freshest scent.
Q. Can I pour old diffuser liquid down the sink?
No. Absorb with paper towel and dispose of it in household waste. Avoid drains and waterways.
